Limington Rips: Class II Practice

In practice for his Northern Forest Canoe Trail voyage Teton linked up with Kevin Rodgers, an experienced whitewater paddler, to run some end of the season low water rapids. They headed up to a popular section of the Saco River that runs east of Limington, Maine called Limington Rips. This 1/2 mile section of rapids when flowing at a normal early spring to mid-simmer rate host class III-IV runs, but since we were going late in September and most of the mountain run-off had passed, we were only seeing class II and under action. This was perfectly fine though! Teton has experienced his fair share of class II-III water during past excursions but had never really formally been taught the ins-and-outs of whitewater navigation. He took advantage of his partners knowledge and picked his brain thoroughly.
